TRIP AWARDS

Dear 4-H members and families, 

We’re reaching the end of another 4-H year and I hope you’ve had a great one! Here is the information for the 4-H member awards, new this year, 4-H Project Awards are open to youth in 5th grade this fall.

The 4-H Member Awards and Scholarships application process is for youth interested in receiving scholarships to attend 4-H educational experiences (trips), open to youth in 7th grade this fall.

The 4-H Project Based Awards are for youth seeking recognition for their hard work on 4-H projects and fair participation, and are now open to youth in 5th grade this fall! Both applications are due by September 8, 2026. (we extended the deadline one day due to Labor Day).

There are two application processes:

4-H Member Awards and Scholarships-7th grade and up Requirements

  • Resume (follow template directions)
  • 1 short essay answering the question “What do you hope to learn from this educational experience?
  • Education Experience Preference form
  • Recommendation from a 4-H adult volunteer
  • Complete an interview

4-H Project Based Awards- 5th grade and up Requirements

  • Application form
  • Short essay answer questions on up to 2 of your favorite 4-H projects
  • 4-H projects fair participation form
  • You can download and fill out all of the forms using the button below:

Planning Workshop

There will be one workshop available for youth to get help with the application on Tuesday, August 25 from 3-6 p.m. This will take place at the Extension office, Room 107 in the Douglas County Courthouse. If you need help outside of this time, please email me and I can gladly meet with you individually!

Douglas County 4-H Travel Policies- this document lists how the costs associated with educational experiences will be covered by the Leaders’ Association and by the participant

Interviews

Interviews are required for youth completing the 4-H Member Award and Scholarship application. This will be scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2026 between 6-8 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse. I will contact you to schedule a time that works for you.

Awards Ceremony

Lastly, save the date of October 18, 2026 for the Douglas County 4-H Awards Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. at Amnicon Town Hall.
