DOUGLAS COUNTY 4-H Douglas County Cooperative Extension 4-H Programs give young people a chance to learn new skills, gain self confidence, and contribute to their communities.4-H Youth Development faculty and staff create real-world experiences that teach leadership and citizenship skills. 4-H ENROLLMENT – You must enroll or re-enroll online. If unable to enroll online, we will take paper enrollments these can be filled out and returned to the office(found at bottom of this page). Welcome to the 4HOnline enrollment process. Their are packets below with instructions to help you enroll yourself or your children in Douglas County 4-H. There are separate instructions for families/youth and leaders/volunteers. You will need access to a computer, your email address and the internet and this program will work with all levels of internet service.

4-H Projects: Youth must select 4-H projects! There are over 100 projects to choose from! The project selected now means this are the projects youth can exhibit in at the Head of the Lakes Fair. Click on this link to the see the Wisconsin 4-H Project guide.
4-H Volunteer Leaders
4-H Youth Development programs and activities must be supervised by an adult, 18 years of age or older, who has completed the Youth Protection program and is currently an enrolled 4-H volunteer leader. The primary purpose of this process is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants (i.e., youth, their parents and families, salaried and volunteer staff.) Refer to the Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development Policies for the complete Youth Protection policies.
- In order to initially be recognized as a 4-H volunteer leader in the Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development program, all adults age 18 years and over must participate in the Youth Protection Process. The Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development Youth Protection program process includes:

- Volunteer enrollment information (name, address, contact information, etc.)
- Approval for University of Wisconsin Extension to run a background records check for arrest and conviction records through the approved channel

- In order to continue as a 4-H volunteer leader in the Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development program beyond the first year, all adults 18 years of age and over must annually complete the following:

- Approval for University of Wisconsin Extension to run a background records check for arrest and conviction records through the approved channel. Note: A background records check for arrest and conviction records will be completed every four years for continuing 4-H volunteer leaders.
- Agreement to follow Volunteer Behavior Expectations (this is a box you will check online.) Agreement can also be found at: Volunteer Agreement.

Returning volunteers who have been absent one to four years

- Approval for University of Wisconsin Extension to run a background records check for arrest and conviction records through the approved channel.
